Pension Encian is located in the beautiful surroundings of the High Tatras, the highest mountain range in Slovakia reaching a height of 8700 ft (2655 m). It is situated beside a stream and on the border of a wood and the village of Stara Lesna, which is only 2 km from Tatranska Lomnica, the Centre of the High Tatras.  Pension Encian is suitable for families with children as well as for groups of up to a maximum of 10 persons. There are three twin-bedrooms to accommodate 6 persons  one double bedroom with an additional single bed to accommodate 3 persons and one single bedroom. There is a compact kitchen, two toilets and two bathrooms, one with a bath and shower, and one with a shower. The lounge includes the dinning area with a log-burning open fireplace. There is also Hi-Fi and TV.

At one side of the house there is a barbecue area whilst on the other side there is a parking area. Nearby, approximately 100m, there is a hotel with a large restaurant that offers a wide variety of meals and drinks. In the neighbourhood there are many hotels, one with a swimming pool, gym and sauna.

SURROUNDINGS

Winter

During winter months the High Tatras are ideal for winter sports activities. There are many ski slopes for beginners as well as for more advanced skiers and snow-boarders. There are also many ski-hire shops as well as ski schools. About 2.5 km from Pension there is a cable car to Skalnate Pleso which will take you to the heart of the mountains with beautiful views over adjoining valleys. You can ski there until the end of May. About 5 km away there is the administrative centre of the High Tatras, Stary Smokovec with a funicular to the ski slopes of Hrebienok. There are also many opportunities for cross-country skiing, sledging as well as ice-skating.

Summer

During summer months the High Tatras are ideal place for hiking and cycling for more active tourists. For those who prefer a more leisurely pace, there are lots of places of interests to visit, be it an old castle in Spis village or a very attractive monastery Cerveny Klastor or a natural museum in Tatranska Lomnica. In Poprad, which in a distance of 15 km there is a thermal water park Aquacity. About 8 km from Pension there are also Belanske caves to admire. In the near vicinity of Pension, about 3 km away, there are also two golf-courses.
